The Department of Georgia, Military Order of the Purple Heart, has successfully concluded its 42nd Annual Convention, held in the beautiful city of East Point, Georgia.
We extend our sincere congratulations to all newly elected Officers for the 2026–2027 term. We look forward to your Leadership and continued dedication to our mission.
We would also like to express our heartfelt appreciation to our distinguished guests for their presence and support: Georgia State Senator Ed Harbison; East Point Mayor Keisha Chapman; East Point Police Chief Shawn Buchanan; Director of the Atlanta VA Medical Center, Kia Mentzer; Atlanta Vet Center representative Sherie Shine-Cross; Chief of the Center for Development and Civic Engagement, Gwendolyn Ramos; Walk of Heroes Chairman Rodger Rehorn and Vice Chairman Dusty Brown.

Saint Francis-Emory Healthcare in Columbus, Georgia has been officially recognized as the first Purple Heart Hospital in the state. The designation was celebrated with a Purple Heart Proclamation Presentation and ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking a historic milestone. This honor is awarded to medical facilities that show a strong commitment to recognizing and supporting Purple Heart recipients and those who have been wounded or killed in service for our nation.
Chapter 576 delivers 250 holiday gift bags to 5 Armed Services groups stationed at Dobbins Air Force Base December 2025.
