Chapter 576 participated in the city of Alpharetta's annual Old Soldiers Day Parade which salutes all veterans.  The Chapter 576 Float, built by Patriot Charles Turner and the Chapter 576 Ladies Auxiliary, contained Chapter members and their family members.  Candy was tossed to children along the parade route.

MOPH Chapter 576 Patriot Peter Manfre presented a plaque to Jeff Popowitz and his wife Linda in honor of his brother, Gregory Popowitz, who was a Marine killed at Khe Sahn in Vietnam.  The ceremony was hosted by the St. Benedict Knights of Columbus Council 10633 in Johns Creek, GA.

WWII Purple Heart Recipient Receives MOPH Blanket (04 August 2018)

The Knights of Columbus (KofC) Council 10633 of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Johns Creek, GA  will hold its 9th Annual Charity Golf Outing to raise money for Veterans groups, including MOPH.  The Golf Outing will take place on Monday, October 22nd, 2018, at the Bears Best Golf Course in Suwanee, GA.  See the KofC golf flyer and registration form below for details.

Chapter 576 Float in Alpharetta's Old Soldiers Day Parade (5 August 2017)

Mr. Ed Stapleton Sr was given our MOPH Chapter 576 blanket on his 95th birthday.  He was a WWII B17 bomber pilot in the Army Air Corps who received the decoration of a Purple Heart.

Chapter 576 Patriots distributed over 200 holiday baskets to Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corp. families.  Each basket contained a Honey Baked ham , a turkey and all the items needed to prepare a holiday feast! In addition, Zaxby's provided gift cards for each basket!

Windsor Forest High School Purple Heart Medal Award

Chapter 576 hosted the Purple Heart Run at the American Legion Post #201 in Alpharetta, GA on 7 July 2017.  The Purple Heart Run truck is a custom-built vehicle paid for by donations from Wounded Warrior Family Services, Ford and the UAW.  The truck is on an 8,500 mile trip across the United States to raise awareness of the needs of handicapped Purple Heart recipients.  Food and lodging for the trip is provided by Marriott and gasoline is donated by Pilot - Flying J.

The Purple Heart Run truck received a police escort from Atlanta to Alpharetta.  Attendees to the event included Patriots and Ladies Auxiliary from numerous Chapters, police officers and fellow veterans.  A special guest was Alpharetta Mayor David Belle Isle who thanked all of the veterans for their service and sacrifices.  Dinner was provided by Chapter 576 and the festivities were capped with veterans signing the vehicle.  The vehicle will be donated to a Purple Heart recipient when the tour ends in Texas.
